Surfers have been among the vanguard sounding the alarm about waste in the oceans.
In this web mini-movie, pro surfer Kyle Thiermann takes us on a tour of Bali, where the surfing waves are phenomenal, but the plastic trash from tourism also is incredible.
Thiermann explains how the problem is worsening, talks with locals working on solutions, and of course, takes breaks for surfing.
He also hits the nail on the head, observing that this is one problem we can all do something about, by skipping plastic bags and bottles.
